Diagnosis Surgery
There are several ways to detect or confirm the suspected presence of cancer. Microscopic examination of biopsies is the ideal way a positive diagnosis of cancer can be made. This procedure involves physically removing all or part (tissue, cells or liquid) of a suspected tumor and examining this material under the microscope. The purpose of a biopsy to identify the histological type of cancer and, possibly, stage of the disease.
Surgery is used to obtain diagnostic tissue sample to identify the particular type of cancer and make a diagnosis. The diagnosis of cancer can often be confirmed by examining cells under a microscope. Several surgical techniques can be used to obtain a sample. These are the surgical biopsies.
Biopsy
The biopsy technique depends on the organ involved and the type of cancer. Several criteria quality must be met.
