Buying a Used microscope....?
I'm thinking of buying an Olympus or Nikon compound microscope from ebay. I'm not sure of exactly which one yet, but I'm sure it would be from the 70s or 80s.
If I get one, will it be difficult to find accessories like a darkfield condenser, or a phase contrast kit that will fit it?
Any suggestions on where to find stuff like that, or how to determine the exact size of part that I'll need?
Will pretty much any kit fit any microscope?
I don't think any kit will fit any microscope. Even different series from the same brand may require different kit/accessories. I guess it will be wise to buy one brand which also provides parts/accessories/kit even though its not a popular brand.
Instead of buying a used microscope, perhaps you better consider a new one. There are plenty of affordable compound microscopes with great feature out there for less than $500.
